Dr. Jennifer Chachkes starts 5/3/10

Dr. Jennifer Chachkes completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with a B.A. in Biological Basis of Behavior in 1999.  After graduation she worked in the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.  She then attended the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine.  After graduation from vet school, she completed a one-year internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, New Jersey.
 
At Oradell Animal Hospital 2005-2005 - rotations in emergency medicine, cardiology, general practice, internal medicine, surgery and critical care. She performed the following procedures: thoracocentesis, pericardiocentesis, diagnostic abdominocentesis, endotracheal washes, bone marrow aspirates.
2005-present: Surgical experience with laser declaws, spays, castrations, and growth removals. Also completed C.E. in dentistry and is competent with dental extractions. She managed critically ill hospitalized patients. Diagnostic procedures performed include endotracheal washes, pericardiocentesis and thoracocentesis.

Dr. Chachkes professional interests are in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine.
 
Dr. Chachkes resides in Philadelphia, PA with her husband Todd.  She has two cats; "Burberry", and "Gustav" and a dog, "Balto", an 8yr.old Husky/Malamute mix.  In her spare time, she enjoys biking, jogging, trying new restaurants in Philadelphia, and spending time with her husband.
