4/17/10: Earth Day 2010

Thank you for taking the time to visit us. We enjoyed meeting and speaking with you & your furry friends!  View Earth Day Photos Here!

Where: Washington Lake Park- Ampitheater Area

When:  Saturday, April 17th, 2010- 10am to 3pm

What: Winslow Animal Hospital promotes conservation, preservation, and

         enviromental education on Earth Day!

Our new hospital has a hot water circulation unit, high energy

efficient appliances. Winslow Animal Hospital rents a cardboard

dumpster just to recycle the cardboard boxes at the cost of $70.00

per week. We recycle pet food cans, bottles, newspapers, printed

paper, and carry our used ink and laser cartridges to be recycled at

         Staples.

Our lights are energy efficient, and there's natural, ambient sunlight

in our treatment area (4 skylights). Our parking lot lights are turned

off at 11pm to save energy. All of our exterior windows are

tinted to keep the sunlight out  so that our building remains

         cool and energy efficient.

In addition, Winslow Animal Hospital and Dr. Coudrai created a

man-made well to use recycle water for our sprinkler system instead

of placing a burden up the township water supply.

We even have an oxygen generator system which uses the earth's

natural oxygen to assist with anesthesia in surgery and in the

Intensive Care Unit cages which are oxygenated.

We will be promoting spaying and neutering so that dogs and cats

can live longer and healthier lives, and we will educate the public

about unwanted animals born into the population. In addition,

we will discuss the importance of zoonosis prevention to promote

keeping Mother Earth's soil safe from possible infection.

 Spay Day USA

The doctors and staff of Winslow Animal Hospital are committed to supporting efforts to reduce the population of stray and unwanted companion animals.

Winslow Animal Hospital will provide free spaying and neutering for the Camden County Animal Shelter,  Gloucester County Animal Shelter, and Animal Orphange on Tuesday, February 23, 2010

Please join us in the fight against overpopulation, and unwanted puppies and kittens. By spaying or neutering your beloved pet, you will have piece of mind knowing that his/her offspring won't be put down in a shelter.

Each day 10,000 humans are born in the U.S. and each day 70,000 puppies and kittens are born. As long as these birth rates exist, there will never be enough homes for all the animals. As a result more than four million pets are put down in U.S. shelters each year. Most of which are healthy, loving cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies.

Maybe someone's dog or cat got out just one time or maybe the litter was intentional, but efforts to find enough good homes failed. Spaying and neutering is the most effective way to combat the serious pet overpopulation epidemic.

In addition to controlling the pet population, the benefits of spaying and neutering are:

  • Helps dogs and cats live longer & healthier lives.
  • Spaying eliminates the possibility of uterine or ovarian cancer in females, while neutering eliminates testicular cancer and decreases the incidence of prostate cancer in males.
  • Spaying and neutering makes pets better and affectionate companions.
  • Unsterilized animals often exhibit more behavioral and temperament problems.
  • Spaying and neutering make pets less likely to spray, roam, run away or get into fights with other animals.

DID YOU KNOW????

An unspayed female dog, her mate and all of their puppies,
and their puppies' puppies, if none are ever
neutered or spayed, add up to:
1 year: 16
2 years: 128
3 years: 512
4 years: 2,048
5 years: 12,288
6 years: 67,000
